On February 25, the regional stage of the republican competition "All-Belarusian Debate League" was held at the Brest State Technical University. The organizers of this competition are the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus, the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus", the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union".
Teams from four universities of the Brest region competed in the ability to argue their point of view. BrSTU was represented by Pavel Kazarenko, Nikita Burd, Taisiya Vorobey, students of the Faculty of Electronic Information Systems, and Alesya Kozel, a student of the Faculty of Engineering Systems and Ecology. The head of the BrSTU debate club is the deputy dean of the Faculty of Electronic Information Systems for ideological and educational work Valentina Nikolaevna Kuzmich.
Debates are a complex competition format, since the team's position often does not coincide with the player's personal opinion. Defending someone else's point of view is a special art!
This time, the debaters argued about the need for music and art education in schools, about student internships in the EAEU, about tax holidays for small and medium-sized businesses. All participants coped with the task perfectly, which complicated the work of the panel of judges.
As a result, two winning teams were determined - "Polesie Politicians" of PolesSU and "Business Prosecutors" from BrSTU, whose participants will represent the Brest region in the final of the Republican competition "All-Belarusian Debate League".
We thank everyone for participating and wish good luck to the winners in the final stage!
