The Russian language unites the scOn November 14 and 15, the Minsk State Linguistic University hosted the grand opening of the Complex of Events for the implementation of the additional educational program "Russian Language as the Basis of Socio-Cultural Design in the Modern Educational Space".
The Complex was held by the Ministry of Education of Russia and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Belarus, the Foundation for the Support of Humanities "My History" together with the Tula State Pedagogical University named after L.N. Tolstoy, Minsk State Linguistic University and the Minsk City Institute for Education Development.
The purpose of the event was to support the role of the Russian language as one of the state languages in Belarus through the development of methods of socio-cultural design when using it in the educational process.
The venues for the event were: Minsk State Linguistic University, the Center for Open Education in the Republic of Belarus, Minsk City Institute for Education Development, Russian State Social University in Minsk, Belarusian State Technological University, the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the central scientific, city children's and national libraries.
The educational program was attended by more than 300 experts (doctors of science, professors of universities in Russia and Belarus - these are scientists from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Tula and Vitebsk, Minsk and Brest, etc.); teachers of Russian as a foreign language; research scientists, teachers of Russian language and literature of Belarusian schools, Belarusian librarians, representatives of public associations, employees of cultural institutions, methodologists, philology students, postgraduate students of educational programs in the field of philological sciences of Belarus.
The following addressed the professional community of teachers and research scientists from Belarus and Russia with a welcoming speech: the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Belarus Yuri Makushin; Vice-Rector for Research at Moscow State Linguistic University Olga Lushchinskaya; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Education at Tolstoy State Pedagogical University Zhanna Fomicheva, who noted that language is the most important means of preserving and developing socio-cultural traditions and values, spiritual and material heritage that unites the peoples of Russia and Belarus.
Over the course of two days, various events dedicated to the role of the Russian language in modern education were held in Minsk, including: conferences, open lectures, master classes, round tables, seminars, and discussion platforms.
Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of our university Maria Petrovna Zhigalova was also invited to conduct the complex of events. She participated in the conference and took part in the discussion of a wide range of issues in such areas as linguistic examination of Russian-language texts and its socio-cultural aspects, the communicative space of the modern Russian language as a field of interaction between linguacultures, and the role of the Russian language in education in Belarus.
On November 14, she held a master class on the topic: "Studying the Works of M. Y. Lermontov in Belarusian Schools" at the Minsk City Institute for Education Development for philology teachers and heads of methodological associations of Minsk.
On November 15, M.P. Zhigalova held a master class "Interpretation and Analysis of a Work of Art as an Intercultural Universe: Theory and Practice" for Russian and Belarusian scientists - university teachers, postgraduates, master's students and students of the Minsk State Linguistic University.
Thus, the Tula State Pedagogical University named after Leo Tolstoy and the Minsk State Linguistic University, which are actively developing partnerships in the field of promoting the Russian language as part of the implementation of the strategic project "International School of the Russian Language" within the framework of the state program "Priority 2030", once again demonstrated by the events that the Russian language unites the scientific and educational space of Russia and Belarus, deepens cooperation in various spheres of life of peoples.
