On September 24, the Brest State Technical University library opened an exhibition-portrait "University in Faces. Professor Maria Petrovna Zhigalova", dedicated to our teacher, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Linguistic Disciplines and Intercultural Communications. Maria Petrovna is a full member of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences of the Russian Federation and "Honored Teacher of Belarus". She is known as an outstanding scholar in the field of teaching literature.

The exhibition presents monographs, teaching and educational-methodical manuals, as well as publications in the periodical press. More than 400 scientific works of Maria Petrovna have been published in various countries, including Belarus, Germany, Iran, Poland, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

At the exhibition presentation, Maria Petrovna told the students about her biography and introduced them to her works, some of which are in the university library collections. 215 sources are available for reading in electronic form in the BrSTU repository, the rest were provided by Maria Petrovna from her personal archive.

The professor shared her thoughts on literature, writers, philosophy and life, recited her favorite poems and explained their hidden meaning. Maria Petrovna infected everyone present with her enthusiasm, creative inspiration and love for the profession.

The exhibition will be open in the reading room of the first building until October 5.
