The Republican Pedagogical Council was held at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk with the participation of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko.
The forum was attended by more than 2.5 thousand teachers, heads of educational institutions, representatives of republican and local authorities, public associations, the media and the industry trade union.
Brest State Technical University was represented by a delegation headed by the Rector of the university Sergei Antonovich Kasperovich. It also included the Head of the Department of Concrete and Building Materials Technology Viktor Vladimirovich Tur, the Head of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply Vladimir Gennadievich Novoseltsev, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the Faculty of Economics Darya Vladimirovna Stankevich, Head of the Department of Quality Management of Education of BrSTU Tatyana Vladimirovna Gaiko, member of the Council of Young Scientists, senior lecturer of the Department of Architecture Anastasia Nikolaevna Vinnik.
The event discussed current issues related to education, upbringing and development of youth. The focus was on strategic issues of industry development. They also discussed the readiness of schools, new textbooks, plans for training young specialists, interaction of universities with customers of personnel and other important topics.
Particular attention was paid to the quality of higher education and its compliance with the needs of the labor market. In order to strengthen the practice-oriented training of specialists, educational institutions closely interact with organizations that order personnel of the real sector of the economy. Universities have concluded more than 2.5 thousand agreements on interaction, more than 10 thousand target agreements.
"The Minister reported on the results of the inspection of the activities of universities and rectors, conducted on my instructions. But I will tell you that this is only the beginning and no one will be able to sit it out. We intend to restore order in the universities in the most uncompromising way. Yes, we will support our teachers, university management both financially and materially. But demand will also increase. In particular, for these purposes, I have planned to visit a number of regional and capital educational institutions. I will ask you to take this seriously," the Head of State warned.
Patriotic education was highlighted as one of the key tasks of the education system. Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko also recalled the importance of labor education in schools.
The participants of the pedagogical council exchanged experiences and discussed the prospects for cooperation between the republic's universities. Following the event, decisions were made aimed at improving the educational process and increasing the competitiveness of Belarusian universities in the international educational services market.
The Republican Pedagogical Council became a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing educational problems. Participants noted the importance of holding such events to identify priority areas for the development of the education system and take appropriate measures.
