On March 27, at the Brest State Technical University, a meeting of students and curators of study groups took place with police lieutenant colonel Olesya Viktorovna Lipskaya, senior detective officer for particularly important cases of the Department for Drug Control and Combating Human Trafficking of the criminal police of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
During the meeting, such problematic issues as prevention of crimes against sexual integrity and sexual freedom of minors were discussed.
The problem of sexual assault against minors is one of the most serious problems of modern society.
It is important to understand that if help is not provided on time, the teenager is left alone with his problem, and psychological traumas of childhood have a strong impact on the entire subsequent life of a person, the formation of his character, mental and physical health, and adaptation in society as a whole.
Unfortunately, it has become such a thing in society that not all parents and acquaintances of victims open up, not everyone goes to the police and not everyone is ready, even realizing that something happened to their child, to report it to the police.
Olesya Viktorovna noted that in order to reduce the concealment of this type of crime, it is very important that people are not afraid and report the problem to law enforcement agencies. These crimes have no statute of limitations. The maximum sanctions under the article provide for up to 15 years in prison.
Such meetings are certainly important in preventive work with students, as they are one of the methods of preventing potential threats in the field of sexual integrity of minors.
