On November 2-3, a delegation from Brest State Technical University took part in the XXII Conference on International Exchange of Specialists (CIEP 2024), held in Shanghai (People's Republic of China). The conference was attended by representatives of leading universities in the field of artificial intelligence from more than 20 countries.
BrSTU was represented by the Head of the Department of Intelligent Information Technologies Golovko V.A., Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Information Systems Parfievich A.N., Head of the Laboratory of Industrial Robotics Kasyanik V.V., Professor of the Department of IIT Chichurin A.V., Senior Lecturer of the Department of IIT Kroschenko A.A. and took part in the sections "Systems and Engineering Solutions in Artificial Intelligence" and "Theory and Application of Artificial Intelligence".
As part of the conference, the BrSTU delegation visited two leading companies in the field of technology: CHC Navigation and Keenon Robotics. This visit is a unique opportunity to visually familiarize yourself with innovations and the latest solutions that shape the future of navigation and robotics.
CHC Navigation: The pinnacle of geolocation technologies is a company known for its advanced solutions in the field of navigation and geodesy.
The most modern GNSS (global navigation satellite system) and RTK (real-time correction) systems were presented at the stands of the showroom. During the presentation, the company's employees explained how their solutions help in precise mapping, construction and land surveying. The demonstration of the equipment in real conditions was especially impressive.
During the visit, possible areas of cooperation with CHC Navigation were discussed, including joint scientific research on the development of unmanned vehicles, internships for students, and possible advanced training programs for faculty.
Keenon Robotics: The Future of Robotics - the company has established itself as a leader in the development of service robots.
The delegations demonstrated various models of robots, including those widely used in restaurants and hotels. Each robot demonstrated its functionality: from food delivery to guest service. They also learned how Keenon Robotics integrates artificial intelligence to improve navigation and customer interaction.
Keenon Robotics employees shared their views on the future of robotics, including the impact of automation on the labor market and potential changes in various areas. They represented BrSTU, in turn, demonstrated the capabilities and experience of solving production problems by the BrSTU Industrial Robotics Laboratory, and discussed the possibility of exchanging existing experience in the operation of mobile robots.
The visit to CHC Navigation and Keenon Robotics was not only an educational but also an inspiring experience for the delegation members. BrSTU employees had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with advanced technologies that could become the basis for their future professional activities.
The visit to these companies created a basis for further cooperation between BrSTU and technology leaders. BrSTU will also continue to integrate modern technologies into the curriculum, preparing students for the challenges of the future.
