The annual celebration "Student of the Year – 2024" took place on October 22 at Brest State Technical University.
Six of the most active and purposeful students, successful in their studies and creativity, competed for the title of "BrSTU Student of the Year" and the right to represent the university at the regional stage of the Republican competition:
Artem Kovalchuk – Faculty of Electronic Information Systems,
Daria Gurbich – Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering,
Evgeny Chupiy – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,
Elizaveta Kalyutich – Faculty of Engineering Systems and Ecology,
Yulia Kovalevskaya – Faculty of Economics,
Anastasia Matievskaya – Faculty of Electronic Information Systems.
In the bright and festive atmosphere of the event, the young people talked about themselves and their hobbies, demonstrated their talents and strengths. The candidates for the title of "Student of the Year" competed in several events: a business card competition, a public speaking competition, an intellectual competition, and a creative competition. After each competition number, the participants could breathe a sigh of relief, which could not be said about the jury. They had an important but very difficult task - to determine the winner of the competition. The competent jury included: Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Natalia Petrovna Yalovaya; Vice-Rector for Security, Regime and Personnel Andrey Antonovich Bosko; Head of the Department of Student Initiatives and Cultural and Leisure Work, Head of the People's Amateur Collective of the Republic of Belarus - Academic Choir "Belaya Vezha" Angolyuk Irina Vasilievna, Second Secretary of the Brest City Committee of the BRSM Public Organization Rodionov Maksim Aleksandrovich, Chief Specialist of the Brest City Committee of the BRSM Public Organization Samuilik Yulia Dmitrievna, Choreographer, Head of the Dance Academy "TERPSICHORE" Kazakova Anastasia Vasilievna; Winner of the regional stage "Student of the Year-2023", finalist of the republican stage "Student of the Year-2023" Sergel Veronika.
According to the jury, Kovalevskaya Yulia was recognized as the winner of the competition "Student of the Year BrSTU". In addition to the main title, other awards were presented. Daria Gurbich was awarded the 2nd degree diploma and in the nomination "Talent in Everything". In the nomination "Master of Improvisation" was recognized Chupiy Evgeniy, "Conqueror of the Audience" - Kovalchuk Artem, "Style Icon" - Kalyutich Elizaveta, "Erudite of the Year" - Matiyevskaya Anastasia.
Also, according to the results of the online voting, the title of "ONLINE Student of the Year" was received by Chupiy Evgeniy.
It is worth noting that Kovalevskaya Yulia and Gurbich Darya will represent our university at the regional stage of the competition "Student of the Year - 2024".
