On April 11, 2024, in the assembly hall of the Brest State Technical University, a dialogue platform “The Road to Space” was held, dedicated to the International Cosmonautics Day and the 90th anniversary of the birth of the first cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin.
The speakers of the event were a veteran of the USSR Armed Forces, retired Lieutenant Colonel Valery Alekseevich Samosevich and Honored Teacher of Russia Raisa Ivanovna Telyakova, who in their reports drew attention to such events in the history of mankind as the first artificial satellite of the Earth, the first flight into outer space of Yuri Gagarin, the first exit into outer space Alexei Leonov, the first female cosmonaut Nadezhda Tereshkova.
The successor of the Soviet space conquerors at the present stage was the first Belarusian female cosmonaut, Marina Vasilevskaya, who completed her 13-day flight last week.
